Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe is a Nigerian politician, legislator, and public servant currently representing the Cross River North Senatorial District in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Known for his commitment to grassroots development and democratic governance, he has built a reputation for advocating policies that promote infrastructure development, education, and economic empowerment in his constituency.
With years of legislative experience, Senator Jarigbe has served both in the House of Representatives and the Senate, contributing to national debates and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
Senator Jarigbe was born on 9 December 1970 in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. Growing up in Cross River North, he developed a strong connection to the needs and aspirations of the people of the region.
He attended the School of Basic Studies in Port Harcourt before proceeding to the University of Calabar, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Later, he expanded his professional qualifications by studying Law at Baze University, Abuja, further strengthening his understanding of governance, legislation, and public administration.
Senator Jarigbe began his national political career in 2015 when he was elected to the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency.
During his time in the House of Representatives, he focused on constituency development and legislative advocacy aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and social welfare programs.
In 2020, he contested and won the Cross River North Senatorial by-election. Following a legal dispute over the election results, the Supreme Court of Nigeria affirmed him as the rightful winner in 2021, after which he was sworn in as a Senator.
He was reelected in the 2023 general elections, continuing his representation of Cross River North in the Senate.
